Burlington County Prosecutor's Office Holds Sports Memorabilia Auction
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — When law enforcement auctions confiscated goods, usually they're cars or jewelry. But one by the Burlington County Prosecutor is different.
This auction has 180 pieces of autogpraphed Philadelphia sports memorabilia -- a Bobby Clarke jersey, photos of Steve Calrton and Mike Schmidt, Flyers hockey pucks and sticks and such. Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina says the items were seized from Mark Begley -- a Moorestown mortgage broker arrested for defrauding customers.
"In this case, he was a sports memorabilia fan and he used his ill-gotten gains to buy sports memorabilia," Coffina said. "So that's what we were able to recover."

The online auction runs until 3 p.m. Monday, November 20.
"We are hoping that there will be a lot of interest and a lot of activity with it," said Coffina. "Because the funds, which again, are the gains from criminal activity, will be used to fight criminal activity in our county."
Coffina says none of the stuff interests him, though. He's a Yankees, Giants and Rangers fan.
