Burlington County Grandma Arrested For Alleged Involvement In Burglary Ring
MEDFORD, NJ (CBS) – A New Jersey grandma is under arrest after allegedly allowing a burglary ring involving her grandchildren to go on under her nose.
Beginning in October of 2012 and continuing through the end of November, Medford Township residents in the Hoot Owl and Tamarac Developments reported numerous residential burglaries and suspicious incidents.
In mid-December, police began investigating the incidents along with Evesham and Cherry Hill police due to reports of similar incidents in those areas.
Kristina McLeod and Heather Kane were identified as suspects in some of the incidents, and the investigation culminated in early January with multiple burglary charges filed against McLeod and Kane, as well as charges against Jeffrey Simpkins (23, Medford), Cynthia Bleckley (21, Medford) and Kenneth Bleckley, Jr. (24, Medford).
There are currently active arrest warrants out for Cynthia Bleckley and Kenneth Bleckley, Jr.
Lorraine Bleckley, a 78-year-old who has been identified as the grandmother of the two suspects who share her last name, was also charged with maintaining a nuisance. Bleckley is the homeowner of a residence on Ohio Trail in Medford where several of the suspects charged were living. Police say Lorraine Bleckley allowed her home to be used for criminal activity.
Lorraine Bleckley turned herself into police and was released pending a court hearing.
