Budweiser Rebrands As 'America' Just In Time For Summer

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Budweiser is taking patriotic to a new level, by renaming themselves in honor of the red, white and blue.

"America's No. 1 full-flavored lager is taking its longstanding tradition of patriotic packaging even further this summer by replacing "Budweiser" with "America", the company, owned by Belgian multinational corporation Anheuser–Busch InBev, announced in a press release.

The festive beers will come with USA-themed phrases from the "Star Spangled Banner," "America the Beautiful," and the Pledge of Allegiance. It's all a part of a summer long campaign called 'America is in your hands'. The campaign kicks off what Budweiser Vice President Ricardo Marques calls a summer unlike any other.

"We are embarking on what should be the most patriotic summer that this generation has ever seen, with Copa America Centenario being held on U.S. soil for the first time and Team USA competing at the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games."

To spread the word, Budweiser tweeted out an image revealing the temporary future of its cans. Emblazoned with the word America and the hashtag #ThisBudsForYou, the idea proved to be favorable among some.

Designed in partnership with Jones Knowles Ritchie New York, the company said in a statement that their bold new look will remind people "from sea to shining sea to embrace the optimism upon which the country was first built."

The label change is pending approval from the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax And Trade Bureau.

Hmm, what would our founding fathers think?
