Bucks County Judges Will Choose New County Commissioner

BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) - Bucks County's thirteen judges will get together later today to choose a new county commissioner.

The judges will debate the merits of three candidates who were selected by the Republican Party and then come up with a replacement for Jim Cawley, who took the oath of office as Pennsylvania's Lieutenant Governor last week.

The possibilities include Buckingham Township Supervisor Jon Forest, Lower Southampton tax collector Jennifer Yori and Bedminster businessman Robert Loughery. It was Loughery who received the most votes from the more than 100 Republican committee members.

Cawley was appointed by the judges in 2005 when Mike Fitzpatrick was elected to Congress for the first time. Fitzpatrick was chosen by the judges in 1995 when Mark Schweiker was elected Lieutenant Governor.
