Bucks County Hotel Clerk Sentenced In Credit Card Scheme
DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- A Philadelphia man will spend at least 18 months in state prison for stealing corporate credit card numbers from guests at a Bucks County hotel and then using the cards to buy Phillies and Flyers tickets.
Robert Rosen admitted in court that while working the desk at the Holiday Inn Express in Warminster, Pa., he stole credit card numbers from the hotel's computer system and bought tickets online.
Prosecutors say he bought the best -- club boxes for the Flyers and the Diamond Club for the Phillies.
Bucks County deputy DA Marc Furber says Rosen, 39, was sentenced to 1½ to five years behind bars.
"It comes down to greed, plain and simple," Furber said after Rosen's sentencing. "He wanted these tickets, he wanted to live the high life, and he found a way to do it."
Furber says Rosen has a history of stealing: he was convicted three previous times in Philadelphia, Delaware County and Northampton County for similar crimes.
Rosen was also given five years' probation and ordered to repay more than $3,000 to the ticket brokers. He apologized, saying he was off his medication when he committed the crimes.
