Bucks County Home Improvement Firm is Back In Business

LEVITTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- It appears there's some good news for customers who bought windows and doors through a Bucks County company that abruptly shut its doors last week.

According to a statement on its web site, Windowizards has resumed operations and plans to fulfill all of the orders it's taken from its customers.

That's also the word that Bucks County consumer protection director Mike Bannon got from the founder of the company, who says the staff has been rehired.

Bannon's office received more than 70 complaints since the shutdown, and he says he'll be watching how the situation moves forward.

"We're always concerned when this type of situation happens," Bannon told KYW Newsradio on Monday.  "We're optimistic in this case that they'll take care of it, but we are going to stick with it until the end."

He says Windowizards chairman Harvey Goodman told him they will process all of the existing orders secured with deposits before taking any new business.

The web statement says the company temporarily suspended operations last week due to an unanticipated interruption of windows from a major supplier.
