Bucks County Food Bank Launches Website To Make It Easier To Help Those In Need

By Lynne Adkins

BRISTOL, Pa. (CBS) -- The Bristol Borough Community Action Group is feeding more than 220 families a week; that's a 46 percent increase from the beginning of the year, and money is needed to buy food according to Jeffrey Fisher, the executive director.

"We're able to give people meat, which a lot of food banks can't. We have dry goods, canned goods like tuna fish, stew and I have a certain area of that food bank that I try to reserve for the homeless people where everything has a flip top, things they can eat without heating."

The website Givebucks.org lets you use PayPal or a credit card to either give a one time donation, or have money donated each month.

He says all the dollars received by the food bank will go to feed the hungry.
