BRR, Cold Then Weekend Snow

By Kathy Orr

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Our current pattern of bitter cold should continue for at least the next two weeks, with more snow chances.

Philadelphia has already made it to the 5th snowiest January of all time with 22.5" ... and counting!

In fact, a Clipper will move across the Delaware Valley Saturday with enough moisture to produce 1-3" of snow. Most of this will fall by sunset. Winds will be a factor Saturday, Gusting to 35 to 40 mph.

Another Clipper will pass by Monday, this will not have much moisture, but will reinforce Arctic Air, Tuesday's highs will only be in the teen!

The biggest story remains the cold and persistent icy conditions. Normal highs for late January are in low 40's, and there's no chance of temperatures climbing that high until the beginning of February. In fact, only 3 of the next 7 days are likely to break out of the mid 20's.

Stay bundled up, as we climb aboard the Polar Express ... again!
