Brotherly Love: Years Later, Two Still Beating The Odds & Giving Back
WILLINGBORO, N.J. (CBS) -- "At first it hit me like a ton of bricks," said Lillian Daniels of Willingboro, New Jersey after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002.
She had insurance, but was still left with a $7,000 dollar bill.
With help from others, she was able to pay the bill off, and she realized, helping others pay for their medical bills, is something she wanted to do with her life. She started the Bread of Life Foundation. She helps others, like Gerald Mills of Ardmore, Pennsylvania pay their bills.

Shockingly, her cancer came back in 2010. But she was deteremined to keep fighting.
"As long as I'm here on this Earth, I'm going to do that purpose, and that purpose is to give back," Daniels said.
After two surgeries this Summer, doctors say Lillian is now cancer free. Her Bread Of Life Foundation continues to grow and assist others. She's given away thousands of dollars for those who need help paying their medical bills.
11-year-old Karlee Hoffman of Bucks County has always loved sports, but it's been nearly impossible for her to play on a baseball field that can accommodate her wheelchair. She survived cancer, but the treatments left her legs paralyzed. She hasn't given up though.
"I know there will be a away for me to play, because, as my parents always say, where there's a will there's a way."
Karlee's optimision and a lot of hard work by others has paid off. The Miracle League of Northampton--a baseball program for children with disabilities--will have a ground breaking ceremony at the beginning of the 2012 softball season. After raising $700,00, it will be a fully accessible sports complex, the first in the Bucks County area, so children like Karlee can finally, play ball.
