BRISTOL, Pa. (CBS) -- A school in Bristol Township was placed on lockdown for a short time this (Tuesday) afternoon as police tracked down 2-suspects in a drug deal involving undercover police.
Authorities say that the incident began as a drug deal in Bensalem involving undercover police, but it quickly turned to a pursuit.
Bensalem Township police warned authorities in neighboring Bristol Township that the suspects were heading their way. Two officers waited for the suspects at a storage facility near Ford Road where they tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver instead tried to run over one of the officers.
Another officer fired two-shots at the vehicle striking the hood of the truck once. The suspects continued their escape until fleeing the vehicle on foot into a wooded area near Dixon Avenue.
Police credit a worker who happened to be on the roof of a bowling alley with helping them locate and apprehend the suspects in the woods.
Nearby Maple Shade Elementary School went into lockdown for a short time as a precaution.
