South Jersey Mother Accused Of Killing Toddler Because He Wouldn't Eat Or Listen Ruled Fit To Stand Trial
BRIDGETON, N.J. (CBS) -- A judge ruled Nakira Griner fit to stand trial in Bridgeton. On Monday, Griner was arraigned on charges she killed her 23-month-old son, Daniel Griner Jr., in February.
Griner pleaded not guilty. She told investigators she struck the boy because "he wouldn't eat or listen."
Daniel's charred remains were found buried under a shed behind Griner's house.
Griner's lawyer says she was suffering from postpartum depression.
