'Bridgegate' Now Under Scrutiny of 2 NJ Legislative Committees

TRENTON, N.J. (CBS) -- Two special legislative committees in New Jersey will now look into the "Bridgegate" scandal.
The state Senate panel consists of seven North Jersey members: four Democrats and three Republicans.
The Assembly's committee has 12 members: eight of them Democrats, including two from South Jersey. That panel will be chaired by assemblyman John Wisniewski of Middlesex County.
"We have no predetermined outcome, we have no predetermined agenda," Wisniewski said today. "We've been following a trail, and unexpectedly we wound up in the governor's office."
Both committees will have subpoena power, which will likely be exercised in short order.
Meanwhile, the Christie administration has retained the services of former New York federal prosecutor Randy Mastro to coordinate their own internal probe of "Bridgegate" and, according to a press release, will cooperate in a separate investigation being conducted by the US attorney in New Jersey.
