Brian Billick Drops Eagles From 1st To 12th In Power Rankings
By Spike Eskin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Former Ravens coach Brian Billick was on the air at 94WIP last week explaining why he placed the Eagles as the #1 team in his power rankings.
"They've got all the explosive weapons offensively," Billick said. "Defensively, they got better and better with every week. I think they'll be even better on defense this year. I think picking up DeMeco Ryans was huge … I think they're poised to have a great year."

Billick was right about the defense, they were impressive, and Ryans looked worlds better than he did in the preseason. As for that explosive offense, well, it was the wrong kind of explosive.
After the Eagles' close call against the Browns, which featured four interceptions from Michael Vick, Billick dropped the Eagles to 12th in his power rankings. The 11 spot move was the biggest in the rankings, and we'd guess is one of the biggest drops after a team notches a victory.
"Just because I'm moving them down 11 spots this week, doesn't mean I'm ready to panic just yet," Billick wrote. "Juan Castillo's defense held Trent Richardson to just 2.1 yards per carry on 19 attempts, a huge improvement over last year's squad which struggled against the run."
Perhaps Billick isn't panicking because he's not an Eagles coach or an Eagles fan.
