Brett Brown: Ben Simmons Has 'Hint Of Magic, Younger LeBron'
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Brett Brown knows Ben Simmons very well.
"I coached Ben Simmons' father for five years in Australia in the late 80's and I've known his family and dad his whole life," Brown explained last week on 94WIP.
On Wednesday, Brown joined Colin Cowherd on Fox Sports' The Herd, and was asked if Simmons reminds him of any other player.
"I feel like you said the one that most people come up with first and it's true, he's got a hint of Magic [Johnson]," Brown said. "At times you can see like a younger LeBron [James] where you're not sure what position he is. At one moment you think he's a four, maybe he's a three, he looks comfortable handling the ball.

"When you say what is your identifiable NBA elite skill, most people will go immediately to passing and you take that collection of comments and you add it into a 6-foot-10 frame, the comparisons to those two players could be a little bit reckless, could be a little bit ambitious, but there is no denying that he really does come to the draft with a very unique skill package."

I guess it's a good thing if your skill set is being compared to Magic and LeBron. Sounds like the Sixers like him a little bit.
