Police ID Pa. State Trooper Killed In Accidental Shooting At Montgomery County Gun Range
CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. (CBS) – Pennsylvania State Police say a state trooper has died following an accidental shooting at a gun range in Montgomery County.
"It's with an extremely heavy heart and deep sorrow that I announce the tragic death of Trooper David Kedra of Troop K, Skippack station," State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan said in a statement Tuesday night.
State Police say Trooper Kedra, 26, was fatally wounded after being shot in the chest during a training exercise at the Montgomery County Public Safety Training Complex in Conshohocken around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday.
The trooper was airlifted to Temple University Hospital where he later died.
Nearly two dozen police cars and motorcycles escorted the body of Trooper Kedra from the hospital to the Medical Examiner's office.

Trooper Kedra had been a member of the Pennsylvania State Police since June 18, 2012.
"He died serving the people of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the men and women of the Pennsylvania State Police mourn his loss and extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends," Noonan said in the statement.
This incident is being investigated jointly by the Pennsylvania State Police and the Montgomery County District Attorney's office.
All fire and EMS training was cancelled at the Montgomery Training Campus Tuesday night.
Trooper Kedra is the 96th member of the Pennsylvania State Police to be killed in the line of duty.
