Breaking Down Eagles/Panthers With Ray Didinger
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It's preseason game #2 for the Eagles on Thursday night as they welcome the Carolina Panthers to the Linc.
The Eagles lost their first preseason game last Friday, falling to New England, 31-22, at the Linc. Carolina won its preseason opener, beating the Chicago Bears, 24-17, that same night.
While Nick Foles is expected to get the start for the Eagles at quarterback, look for him and Michael Vick to split reps with the first team. Vick got the start under center in the Patriots game.
The starters are expected to play about a half for the Eagles.
Both RB LeSean McCoy and CB Cary Williams are expected to make their preseason debuts against the Panthers after sitting out the Patriots game because of injury.
Tackle Jason Peters is not expected to play as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury. Long snapper also expected to sit out as he recovers from a concussion.
Eagles and Panthers have met twice before in the preseason. The Eagles won both match-ups, one in 2007 (27-10) and the other in 2008 (24-13). Both those previous games were also played in South Philadelphia.
KYW's Matt Leon spoke with the legendary Ray Didinger of Comcast Sportsnet to get insight into what to look for in this one.
