Boyfriend Pleads Guilty In Area Couple's Drug-Fueled Crime Spree

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A second person today pleaded guilty in the case of a Pennsylvania couple who stole a Camden police car and then a Philadelphia cruiser during a wild and reckless crime spree in March of this year.
Blake Bills, 25, today pleaded guilty and will be sentenced later. His girlfriend, Shayna Sykes, pleaded guilty earlier and was sentenced to 3-8 years in prison (see related story).
Bills and Sykes have both admitted they were on a heroin- and cocaine-fueled crime spree when Bills stole a Camden police car, allegedly hit and seriously injured a police officer, and then, with Sykes in the car, fled to Philadelphia with police in pursuit on the ground and in the air.
Sykes later stole a Philadelphia police car but didn't get far (see related story).
The video of the chase and apprehension made international news, with some reports referring to a latter-day "Bonnie and Clyde."
But Philadelphia prosecutor Guy D'Andrea doesn't like the reference.
"They're not Bonnie and Clyde. They are not Jack and Jill. They're two heroin addicts who behaved like heroin addicts -- they went out and stole items, they become glamorized because the items they stole were two police cruisers," he tells KYW Newsradio. "And the injuries, obviously, in Camden were so severe. But they are two drug addicts behaving like drug addicts."
Bills still faces serious charges for his actions in Camden.
