Mark Wahlberg On Young Singer: 'Truly The Voice Of An Angel'
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A young boy of the Keystone Boys Choir got the chance to meet Pope Francis Saturday night after performing at the Festival of Families in front of thousands.
After he finished singing, he received a loud applause from the crowd. He then walked up and presented Pope Francis with a gift. The Pope, in turn, gave him a gift as well.
"Thank you so much," the boy could be heard saying.
"In 2009 we were the only choir to go to Antarctica and we brought back a rock to save to give to someone special like maybe the President or the Pope, which we just gave it to him, I gave it to him on stage," he told CBS 3 Eyewitness News.
He tells CBS 3 he didn't know he was going to sing until five minutes before.
Before leaving the stage, the boy hugged Festival of Families host Mark Wahlberg.
"That right there was truly the voice of an angel," said Wahlberg. "But then he whispered in my ear that he loved the movie 'Ted.' And I told him that was not appropriate for a boy of his age. Holy Father please forgive me. I've always hoped that the good Lord has a sense of humor when it comes and pertains to many of the movies that I've made."
