Boy Dies, Man Hurt When Car Strikes Tree In South Jersey
MULLICA TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — A young boy was killed and a man was injured when their car struck a tree on a southern New Jersey roadway.
But it's still not clear what caused the crash, which occurred shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday in Mullica Township.
Police in the Atlantic County community say 10-year-old township resident Jaiden Ohnemuller-Muskett was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. He had been sitting in the car's rear passenger seat.
The driver, 28-year-old township resident Philip Muskett, suffered moderate chest and leg injuries and was flown to a hospital. Further details on his condition were not released, and authorities did not immediately disclose his relationship to the child.
No one else was in the car and no other vehicles apparently were involved in the crash.
