Boy, 15, Arrested for Bank Robbery in Delaware
Authorities investigating a bank robbery in Claymont, Delaware got a jolt when they recognized the suspect in surveillance pictures.
KYW's Pat Loeb reports the suspect is now under arrest at a juvenile correction center.
It was a pretty typical bank robbery -- the suspect handed a note to the teller at the WSFS bank inside a Claymont grocery store -- but the age of the suspect was anything but:
"It's obviously not typical. In my 20 years I cannot remember one this young."
Trooper Walter Newton says the suspect is just 15. He says another trooper recognized him in pictures from the bank's security camera because he'd arrested him before for shoplifting:
"In one respect, we're kind of like taken aback by his age but then, just looking at the brief time that he's been around and the type of criminal activity he's been involved in I guess it's just a progression but it's just very unfortunate and it's sad too."
Newton said he couldn't identify the suspect because of his age.
