Police Identify Victim's Body Left In Wooded Area Off Of Rt. 206
TABERNACLE, NJ (CBS) – Detectives with the New Jersey State Police Major Crime Unit and the Criminal Investigation Office are investigating the murder of a woman whose body was found in the woods along Route 206 Monday morning. The victim has been identified as Lisa Armstrong, 47, of Trenton.
Armstrong's body was discovered by a surveying crew shortly after 8:00 a.m. She was a found a few yards into the trees at the side of the rural highway.
Evidence indicates that Armstrong was shot and killed at the location where she was located, and the murder likely took place within 24 hours of her discovery.
Armstrong's family has been notified. Numerous interviews have already been done and others are ongoing. The investigation continues into this murder and further details are not able to be released at this time.
"She was a real helpful person, I don't know why someone would do something like this to my mother," Armstrong's daughter, Keyuana Bennett said. "Hopefully, she's in a better place now, but they didn't have to take my mom like that. We love our mom and we miss her."
