Body Found In Trunk Of Burning Car In Northeast Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are investigating the discovery of a body that was found in the trunk of a burning car in Northeast Philadelphia early Thursday morning.
The discovery was made at about 7 a.m. at Winchester Avenue and Woodward Street near Pennypack Park.
According to investigators, firefighters were called to the location for a car that was on fire.
After putting the fire out, firefighters did a search of the car and while doing so, they found a body in the car's trunk.
It was not immediately known if the body is a man or woman. So far, no cause of death is known.
The investigation into the discovery is ongoing.
