Body Found In Delaware River In Bucks County

LOWER MAKEFIELD TWP., Pa. (CBS) - Authorities in Bucks County say a body was found on an island in the Delaware River Saturday afternoon, and there is a possibility that the body is that of a swimmer who went missing in early August.
Lower Makefield Township police say they responded to a call of a body on an island about one-mile north of the Calhoun Street Bridge around 4:30 p.m.
The body is that of a man between the ages of 25 and 35. It was found in the water, caught up on a low-hanging tree branch near the small island. The body was badly decomposed, leading investigators to believe it had been in the water for an extended period of time.
Authorities say there is a possibility that the body belongs to a Virginia man who went missing while swimming in the river in Tinicum Township several weeks ago (see related story).
The body was taken to the Bucks County Coroners office for further investigation, and proper identification.
