Body Found In Burned Vehicle In North Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia homicide detectives are investigating the death of an unidentified person who was found bound in a van that was set on fire in North Philadelphia.
The gruesome discovery was made shortly before midnight on Wednesday near the intersection of 19th and Westmoreland Streets in the city's Nicetown-Tioga section.
According to investigators, fire crews were putting out the vehicle fire when they discovered the body inside. Police say the male was in the back of the van with his wrists and ankles bound by duct tape.
The victim's name has not been released and there are no suspects.
This is the city's fifth homicide so far in 2013.
