Body Found In Bag In Chester Identified
CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - Authorities in Delaware County have identified the body of a man found bound and gagged near the foot of the Commodore Barry Bridge, and they say he was beaten to death.
The Delaware County Medical Examiner's office says 19-year-old Toby Gale Jr. of Chester died of blunt force injuries to the head. The medical examiner classified the death as a homicide (see related story).
Police say highway workers found Gale's body wrapped in plastic trash bags with a blanket over his head near a construction site between the Delaware River and Route 291 on Thursday.
But Chester detective James Nolan says there is no evidence that he was killed there. Nolan said authorities believe Gale was killed late Wednesday or early Thursday and dropped at the location.
