Body Discovered In Kensington, No Connection Made To 'Strangler'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police are investigating the discovery of a woman's body in the city's Kensington neighborhood Friday afternoon.

According to police, a white female in her 20's was found dead, face-down in a row home on the 2800 block of North C Street just after 4 p.m.

There is no word at this time if this incident is related to the recent incidents in Kensington.

Police are waiting for a medical examiner to determine the cause of death.

The 'Kensington strangler' is suspected of murdering 21-year-old Elaine Goldberg and 35-year-old Nicole Piacentini. Goldberg was found dead on November 3rd in a vacant lot and Piacentini was found dead in an abandoned property on November 16th.

Additionally, at least four other women have survived attacks by the strangler. (read related story)

Police only have a composite sketch and grainy surveillance photo of a possible suspect; $37,000 in reward money is being offered information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator.
