Blue Hens Look For Homecoming Win vs. Albany

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Delaware Blue Hens have hit the midpoint of the season with a 4-2 record. But that sixth game is one they would probably like to forget as they got beat up last weekend up at Maine, 62-28. The Blue Hens will try to bounce back on Saturday as they host Albany for homecoming.
Delaware got blitzed early against the Black Bears, falling into a 27-2 hole in the first quarter.
"We didn't do a very good job to start the game and then made a couple of mistakes," Delaware head coach Dave Brock tells KYW Newsradio. "It's bad enough when you turn the ball over, but when you turn it over and it ultimately ends up being two turnover touchdowns, you've dug yourself a pretty significant hole and we weren't able to dig ourselves out."
With half the season in the books, Brock talks about where his team is.
"Right now I think we're a work in progress, which doesn't surprise me," Brock says. "We have to battle, it's got to be a one-week-at-a-time season. We have six, one-week seasons left. This is the most important week, because it's this week. We've got to find a way to be 1-0 against Albany."

Albany has struggled so far in 2013. They will bring a 1-5 record to Delaware Stadium on Saturday and they have lost their last two games to Old Dominion and James Madison by a combined score of 106-23. But Brock says they have talent.
"Their running back, (junior) Omar Osbourne, is a terrific player," Brock says. "He's played very, very well in their games. They've really moved the ball pretty efficiently in every game they've played on offense, they just have struggled to score. From 20 (yard line) to 20 (yard line), they've been pretty good. Short passing game, controlled, and then they run the ball pretty well. They're big and physical."
Osbourne has rushed for 658 yards in six games with six touchdowns. The Great Danes quarterback, junior Will Fiacchi, has completed 56% of his passes for 1,282 yards and five touchdowns.
"Defensively, they've struggled a little bit," Brock says. "They've been in some games, now recently gotten down in games and then that makes it challenging offensively. You get out of character, you throw the ball probably a little more than they'd like to. They've struggled the last couple of weeks against ODU and James Madison."
Delaware and Albany will kick-off at noon on Saturday.
