Welcome to the Super Bowl in New Orleans.
Storms through Atlanta Wednesday night turned the trip into a roller coaster of delays, but we arrived – tossed, but unharmed -- after a twelve hour adventure.
Once in the magical city, the pace slowed into a Southern swarm of music, African-Caribbean culture and football mania.
Yes, there is a super game in the offing, but fans are drunk with the sights and sounds of one of the NFL's favorite showcase cities. My lunch Thursday is crawfish etouffee laced with Louisiana hot sauce. Awesome!
Meanwhile, photographer Tommy G is capturing the sights and sounds with the brilliance and tones of a Kenny G.
We have interviews with Coach Dick Vermeil on topics from who will win and why to his conversations with the new Eagles coach Chip Kelly. Tommy is driving and handling the high tech equipment, but I sampled the local brew, Abita Amber. Who knew?
Later I will sit down with the man calling the game on CBS, my Giants teammate Phil Simms. Hall of Famer Howie Long will chime in, and we have another exclusive so dynamic and compelling that I can't tell you about it. Watch CBS3 to see one of my favorite interviews of all time!
