BLOG: Alex's Lemonade Events For Thurs/Fri/Sat
By Jim Donovan: Tomorrow, Thursday June 7th CBS 3 and The CW Philly will once again present a full day of fundraising for the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation live from the Great Hall in the stations' HD Broadcast Center. Be sure to tune in and make a donation if you can to help fund the fight against childhood cancer. My colleague, Health Reporter Stephanie Stahl and I will be answering the phones from 3 - 4 p.m. The number is 1-877-KYW-3-ASK.
In addition, there are some other "Lemonade" related events happening too that I wanted to alert you to.
If you happen to be up the Quakertown area on Friday, June 8. The Starbucks at 262 NW End Blvd is holding a carnival day in support of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They'll have face painting, music, carnival games like a ring toss and basketball challenge. All proceeds go directly to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. The folks at that Starbucks are really involved in the community, so swing by and give them your support! (Tell Melissa the manager that Jim Donovan sends his regards)
If you like LEGO's, then you'll want to be at the National Constitution Center anytime between this Thursday and Saturday. Lego and Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation are hosting a two-day event to build the world's largest lemonade stand made entirely of LEGO bricks. The building of the stand will occur on Thursday, June 7 and Friday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Then lemonade will be served from the stand on Saturday, June 9 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. In addition, children eight and under will be admitted FREE into the National Constitution Center with a donation to Alex's Lemonade Stand.
