Billboard Project Teams Up Older and Younger LGBT Philadelphians

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia's Mural Arts Program has turned to billboards to highlight its latest project, "Showing Face," which brought together older and younger members of the LGBT community.
The yearlong collaboration between members of the Attic Youth Center and seniors from the LGBT-oriented John C. Anderson Apartments produced a series of photos that focus on faces, with eyes open and closed.

"The eyes-closed photo is supposed to symbolize the sitter's vulnerability, their fear, their insecurities," notes project manager Jameson Paige, "and the eyes-open is supposed to be a lot more the showing off their personalities, showing their pride, particularly for their identity."

The billboards can be seen along major thoroughfares throughout the city.
