Bill To Privatize Some Liquor Sales In Pa. Passes The Senate
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A bill to privatize some liquor sales in Pennsylvania passes the Senate.
The proposal would allow grocery stores and take-out businesses that sell beer to sell up to four bottles of wine.
Supporters say the change would also help state owned stores by improving profitably because they would have more flexibility to set store hours.
But critics say it could put some of the state stores out of business.
Governor Tom Wolf supports the proposal, but it is unclear if it can pass the house.
