Big Turnout For 32nd Annual Run For Clean Air On MLK Drive
By Tim Jimenez
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Earth Day is on Monday so hundreds of runners took part in an annual 5-K run for clean air.
Along Martin Luther King Drive on Saturday was the 32nd Annual Clean Air Council 5K run for Clean Air, co-sponsored by CBS Radio.
Joseph Minott is the council's executive director:
"(It's to) celebrate the progress that we've made both in the Philadelphia area and across the nation in terms of addressing air pollution but also a message that there's more that we all need to do."
And organizers made the event as green as possible including offering eco-friendly bibs that Tammy from Trenton loved.
"There are seeds in the bibs so we can plant them and get flowers. That's so neat that they're very conscientious with all that."
And she and her group also had Boston on her mind, their red socks on as a tribute.
