'Beverly Hills 90210' Actress Uses Twitter To Check On Troubled Fan In New Jersey
WESTAMPTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) – An actress famous for her role on "Beverly Hills 90210" used the power of social media to check on a fan in New Jersey she believed was in danger.
According to a statement posted on the Westampton Township's community notification website, actress Shannen Doherty called the township's police department on November 11th after receiving concerning messages from a female fan on Twitter.

After speaking with the woman, police said they found no signs of her attempting to harm herself. The community notification website stated that the woman told police she did not wish to harm herself and denied medical attention and police left the home.
After police left the home and found the woman to be safe, Doherty took to Twitter and thanked police. She wrote: "Thank you to the Westampton police department for being diligent and so reassuring."
