Betty White Stops In Philly For PLA Convention
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A five-day library conference wrapped up Saturday in Philadelphia, bringing an estimated $20 million plus to the local economy. A well-known entertainer and author closed the convention.
Ninety-year-old Betty White was at the 2012 Public Library Association's conference and talked about her work with animals and her nearly 70-year career in show business including her show "Hot in Cleveland."
White surrounded by security, signed copies of her books including the latest, "Betty and Friends: My Life at the Zoo."
The event drew in thousands of librarians, library professionals, authors, publishers and library vendors from across the country and around the world.
