PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Many dreams were dashed after Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing, for a whopping jackpot of $355 million.
Thousands lined up in 41 states to purchase a $1 ticket ahead of the drawing for the second largest prize in Mega Millions history and the fourth largest in U.S. history.
The jackpot's cash option comes out to approximately $224 million, with smaller prizes ranging from $2 to $250,000.
In the Mega Millions game, players try to match five numbers and a "Mega ball" number. Tuesday's winning numbers were 4, 8, 15, 25 and 47, and 42 was the Mega Ball number.
