Better Business Bureau Creates Tool To Help Consumers Track And Report Scams
By Molly Daly
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Better Business Bureau has created an interactive map to help consumers learn about scams, and report them.
The Better Business Bureau's Kelsey Owen says Scam Tracker helps you find what kind of con jobs people are trying to pull anywhere in the U.S. and Canada.
"You can actually go into it, and you see a whole geographic map. You can zoom in on your area, and see what scams are being reported. There are little pinpoints -- you can click on the pinpoint, and open up the scam details."
Late Monday afternoon, the map showed 155 scams reported in the Delaware Valley, from chiselers claiming to be with the IRS, to calls from "tech support. Owen encourages you to report any scams that've targeted you.
