Berube On Game Three In Philly: "It's Gonna Be Loud, We All Know That"
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - After evening the series at one game a piece on Sunday in Madison Square Garden, the Flyers and Rangers series shifts to South Philadelphia and the Wells Fargo Center, in one of the most hostile environments in all of hockey. Flyers coach Craig Berube, who played in playoff games in Philly, will make his Flyers playoff coaching debut in Philly on Tuesday night.
"Its gonna be loud we all know that," Berube told Anthony Gargano and Rob Ellis on the WIP Afternoon Show. "I don't know if there is anything better than that and this barn is unbelievable, the fans are great and they'll be jacked and our players will be jacked up. They just got to make sure they stay emotionally in check and just play hockey. You want to be fired up and you want to do things, but you got to play smart."
Ray Emery will make his third straight start in net for the Flyers, as Steve Mason continues to recover from an upper-body injury.
"He's [Mason] not [healthy], so it's not even a question, you know what I mean guys? Our goalie right now is Ray Emery," Berube said.
Flyers captain Claude Giroux, who after a slow start finished third in the NHL in scoring, has been held without a shot in two straight games. However, Berube said Giroux was much better on Sunday.
"His game was way better in the second game. He was way more aggressive and did some good things with the puck. You know, he just missed on a few plays where, opportunities to set people up and get some goals. I think I'd like to see Giroux still shoot the puck more. I think that he needs to find a way to get pucks on net. "
