Bensalem Twp. Police Seek Public's Help In Locating Jewelry Store Thief
BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) - Bensalem Township Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a jewelry store thief.
The theft happened last Thursday at the Neshaminy Mall. Bensalem Public Safety Director Fred Harran says the suspect walked into Gordon's Jewelers and asked to see an engagement ring worth $85,000. Harran says there are some thieves who will pose as customers to get at the merchandise.
"They come in and pretend to be shopping. I know a lot of times, they have a policy where they only show one ring at a time, but this guy must have gone for one of the most expensive rings in the store, and basically ran out and of course if anyone sees him from the video we have out there, we would certainly appreciate them calling Bensalem Police."
The suspect is described as a black man between 20 and 30 years old, standing about 5'10" with large holes or gages, in his earlobes, a mohawk haircut and some tattoos on his arms. Anyone with information should call 215-633-3660.
