Bensalem Police Stumble On 2 Women Suffering Possible Heroin Overdoses

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) -- Bensalem police officers executing warrant sweeps this morning at hotels along the Route 1 corridor in Bucks County likely saved the lives of two women who were found inside one of the rooms.
Police say they were at a motel along Old Lincoln Highway looking for a man wanted on a contempt charge out of Philadelphia.
When they got into the room, they found two women -- one in her twenties, one in her forties -- breathing but unresponsive, with bags of heroin littering the room.
Bensalem public safety director Fred Harran says the women were rushed to Aria Health Torresdale and administered Narcan, a drug that can save heroin overdose victims.
"There are some other factors that I can't discuss at this time, but the investigation is ongoing," Harran said this morning. "Right now we're treating the room as a possible crime scene until we can determine what else may have transpired there."
The women's conditions were not disclosed.
Police say the man they were looking for was taken into custody, and now could face additional charges.
