Police: Woman, 2 Children Struck By School Bus In Delaware
BEAR, Del. (CBS) -- A woman and two young children were struck by a school bus in Delaware on Thursday morning.
Delaware State Police say it happened on Route 40 and Porter Road in Bear around 8:30 a.m.
Police say the 36-year-old woman, along with a 9-year-old girl and 6-year-old boy, were attempting to cross Porter Road without the right of way when they were hit by the school bus. The school bus driver slammed on the brakes, but was unable to avoid them.
Police say the woman was taken to Christiana Hospital with serious, while the children were taken to A.I. duPont Hospital for Children with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the bus, along with a bus aide, were not injured. There were no students on the bus at the time of the accident.
