Be A Beekeeper
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - That's sweet - this time next year maybe you could be giving gifts of honey from your very own hives.
Ever thought about becoming a beekeeper? It's getting more popular as more people are becoming interested in supporting honeybees who've been threatened by various diseases and conditions in recent years. And, because honeybees are such important pollinators, many gardens love having them nearby to help plants keep producing.
Tomorrow night, December 8th the Delaware Beekeepers are hosting a two-hour Introduction to the Art and Science of Beekeeping.
Experienced beekeepers and honeybee experts will give you an overview of the hobby and how to get started. The class is free but space is limited, so if you'd like to join this Introduction to Beekeeping tomorrow night, Thursday, from 7 to 9 pm, at Townsend Hall on the University of Delaware campus in Newark, you're asked to please register by calling Bill Leitzinger at (302) 584-4631 or sending an email to nccbeekeepers@gmail.com in advance.
