Basketball: Wildcats Out, Temple Back In To AP's Top 25
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The recent struggles of the Villanova Wildcats have led to their being knocked out of the Associated Press Top 25 listing for the first time this season. But the Big 5 is still represented, as Temple has returned to the poll at #24.
The Wildcats, #19 a week ago, have lost four in a row, and with a 21-10 record they will be forced to play in the opening round of the Big East Tournament. The Wildcats will take on South Florida on Tuesday night.
The Owls are 24-6, and they are the #2 seed in the Atlantic 10 Tournament. As a result, they have a first-round bye.
They will meet the winner of La Salle/St. Bonaventure in the quarterfinals.
Ohio State remains the #1 team in the country.
