Basketball: After Providence Loss, #8 Villanova Looks To Rebound
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Wildcats fell to 17-3 for the season with that surprising 83-68 loss at Providence on Wednesday night (see related story).
No time to dwell on that disappointment, however, as the Wildcats host Big East rival #21 Georgetown on Saturday afternoon at the Wachovia Center.
As far as that loss to the Friars, Wildcats head coach Jay Wright told KYW Newsradio that the Providence backcourt played a heck of a ballgame.
"We've been fortunate, and we've had a lot of games where our guards have controlled the game," Wright said. "But in that game (Vincent) Council and Marshon Brooks were just outstanding. They really did control the tempo of the game, and it was tough to handle them once they got it going."

Looking ahead to Saturday, the Hoyas will bring a 15-5 overall record and a 4-4 Big East ledger into South Philadelphia, and Wright says they are playing good basketball.
"They are coming off a 25-point win against St. John's and they have, again, a guard combination -- three guards of Wright, Clark, and Freeman -- that are as good as anybody in the country, if not the three best in the country. Much like this Providence game, we're going to have to control that guard play or they can dominate a game."
Tip-off on Saturday is set for 12 noon.
