Baseball Returns To South Philadelphia As Phillies Host On-Deck Series

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The boys are back in town! The Phillies kicked off their On-Deck Series weekend Friday night.
KYW's Kristen Johanson went down to Citizens Bank Park to take in all the action.
"Go Phillies!"
It was a sea of red and white as fans marched through metal detectors for the first time, and many didn't mind.
"It was a little bit longer than normal, but I'd rather be safer because you just don't know what people are up to these days, ya know," said a fan.
The first games held at Citizens Bank Park are known as the On-Deck Series games and are more like a dress rehearsal for real games. Phillies players surprised fans, like Zack, in different spots through the ballpark as part of the weekend's festivities.
"We met Cody Asche and we got his autograph," said Zack.
And Lori is thrilled to be back.
"We just came to this On-Deck Series hoping to meet some players, and finally getting back to a Phillies game," said Lori.
The Phillies take on the Boston Red Sox Monday.
