Bank Robbery Will Be Filmed For A Movie While Customers Are Inside
By John McDevitt
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It's only a movie! A robbery/hostage scene will be filmed at a Northern Liberties bank today while it's open to real-life customers.
The NYU student short is called "Dark Shield" and will be shot at Hyperion Bank at 3rd and Girard.
Suzanne Mooney is the bank's marketing director.
"They're doing some filming of a hostage kind of a scene on the second floor of the bank and our Second Street entrance. Then later in the day, around noon time, the Philadelphia police will be here with four of their cars along with a rescue wagon for the scene where the bank robber flees the building and the shooting begins."
Mooney says the prop guns used in the scene will not make a sound. Gunshot audio will be added in post production. The bank will be open for business during the filming.
