Bank Donation Helps Logan Neighborhood Get A Comprehensive Plan Started
By John McDevitt
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The charitable arm of a financial institution has written a sizeable check to the Logan Community Development Corporation to help it create its first-ever neighborhood plan.
Today on the steps of the Logan branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia, Denise McGregor-Armbrister, executive director of the Wells Fargo Regional Foundation (far left in photo), presented a $100,000 ceremonial check to the Logan CDC.
" This is a critical time for our neighborhood," says Cicely Peterson-Magnum, executive director of the Logan CDC (second from left). "It's an opportunity to collectively plan for and determine our future, to look at neighborhood assets and how we will use them to build a healthy and thriving neighborhood."
Over the next year and a half, the resident-driven planning process will address a number of issues including housing, economic development, vacant land management, and community services.
