Band Raising Money For Families Who Lost Homes In Warehouse Fire

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Once the Fralinger string band realized their props were not destroyed by Monday's South Philadelphia warehouse fire, they focused their fundraising efforts to assist the families who were not as fortunate.
The four alarm fire affected at least three families, including one home that was completely gutted by the blaze. Fralinger chairman Steve Coper and his members will be collecting money at Sunday's Santa parade on Two Street sunday to help their neighbors through this difficult time.
"We were very much spared by the fire, so we think the best use of funds is to go to the fire victims who were only a few days away from the holidays," Coper said. "If anyone cares to donate, they can drop some spare change or a few dollars into the buckets as we go by."
The parade starts at about 2:30 p.m. If you can't make it but would like to donate anyway, they are also accepting donations online at www.Fralinger.org.
Coper says every penny collected from now through New Year's Day will go to the fire victims.
