PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Authorities say the West Philadelphia man who was charged today with throwing a cup of hot coffee on a cashier at the Fresh Donuts shop on Lancaster Avenue last week has been released on $25,000 bail.
Police say 52-year-old David Timbers, of the 3700 block of Haverford Avenue, surrendered Monday evening to authorities and was charged with aggravated assault and related offenses (see related story and video).
Police released surveillance video of Timbers showing him arguing with the female employee and then throwing the hot cup of coffee on her. The woman suffered second-degree burns on her arm and is recovering.
After the video was released, police say they received several tips identifying Timbers as the man in the video.
