Baby Peregrine Falcons Stall Installation Of AC Casino's New Signs
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — Tuesday was to be the day that The Atlantic Club put up signs letting the world know the new name of the Atlantic City casino.
But four baby Peregrine falcons living on a ledge outside the casino penthouse had other ideas.
Workers erected scaffolding near the top of the building, but soon saw that the baby birds were approaching the edge of the ledge. After a wildlife expert determined the falcons are not yet old enough to fly, the casino scrapped the sign installation plan for another two weeks or so.
It will be done once the birds are old enough to safely fly away.
The casino had been known for years as The Atlantic City Hilton, but changed its name in March.
