AvoDerm Dog Food Recall
By Nan Talleno
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - There has been yet another recall this year for dog food due to possible contamination of salmonella.
The Food and Drug Administration has recently recalled a particular Breeder's Choice Pet Food/AvoDerm Dog Food Formula because of a possibility of salmonella health risks.
Fortunately, as of now, this recall includes only one product type. Check your purchases since August of this year and discontinue use immediately. This particular AvoDerm product, Natural Lamb Meal & Brown Rice Adult Dog Formula is identified with the Product Code/SKU of 1000065074, 26 pound bag and the Best Before Codes of 28th, 29th and 30th of August 2013.
As stated on their site, Salmonella can affect animals eating the products and there is a risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to the product.
